Welcome to my food and drink project journal. I love to reverse engineer tasty things I’ve eaten at restaurants. I also challenge myself with kitchen sink dishes and wacky foods. I’ve also been learning brewing and winemaking. Fair warning — Recipes are more guidelines than scientific formula.

Hi! I'm Jenn.
I’m a multi-disciplinary maker who loves to learn new ways of making things — taking classes, watching videos, and trying stuff out on my own. Knitting, spinning yarn, sewing clothing, and leather-working are some of the disciplines I work in. Many of my projects use all sorts of reclaimed and recycled items.

Always fun to meet a fellow hoopy frood.
Saying hello and introducing myself to new friends and followers. I am the queen of, “hey, we can TOTALLY build that.” You name a craft, and there’s a good chance I’ve tried it.
Ick. I've been working on this sweater for a month. Now that I've stitched up the sides and tried it on, I'm unhappy with the fit and color striping. I haven't decided what I'm going to do next.
Tried a drop-spindle again for the first time in *ages* — the yarn turned out okay. Stupid thing kept trying to escape, and it took a while to get the hang of it again.

About Jenn

Jenn Alvin
My goal is to inspire people to try new things. I’ve been craft-failing forward for years, and I believe that failure isn’t the opposite of success. It is part of it.
